#FuckLove Nicki Minaj Continues Transition to Human Barbie on “Starships” (Listen)

Hate is a more powerful force than love, and I've got the numbers to prove it. Whenever we post some new Nicki Minaj I get a barrage of "stop posting Nicki Minaj!" emails. But then when I look at the stats, more people clicked on the Nicki piece than the latest, dope-as-fuck Big K.R.I.T. track.

So let's just own up to our hatred (aka #FuckLove) of Nicki. It feels good to criticize her, mostly because she increasingly deserves it for becoming, ironically, a human musical Barbie doll. She's willing to bend or pose in any way - from super controversial to sugary pop - just as long as it keeps the money coming in. Case in point, new single "Starships".

Not only is "Starships" the essential opposite of her Grammy performance, "Starships" is the kind of song that was pitched to Rihanna, Katy Perry and Ke$ha. Just tweak the verses slightly and any one of those singers could have been slotted in here. Someday, and maybe someday soon, Nicki will become so many different things that she's cease be anything. But until then, how much you wanna bet that this goes top ten?
