Nicki Minaj Takes A (Much Needed) Break From Rapping On “Marilyn Monroe” (Listen & Download)

Nicki Minaj must have been perusing through the RefinedHype comments section for her last two rap songs because homegirl has turned into a Mariah Carey/Rihanna hybrid on her latest release "Marilyn Monroe." I appreciate the fact that Nicki Minaj spared our ears from another Hip-Hop atrocity, but this "Marilyn Monroe" song is really unexpected. I mean can we at least get some kind of transition track? How do you go from the overly hostile "Stupid Hoe" to the overly emo "Marilyn Monroe" without some kind of transition? You could have at least eased us into "Marilyn Monroe."

Now I will give Nicki Minaj credit for the fact that the song does sound good and it is kind of catchy. Just try not to listen too hard because you'll end up utterly confused. I'm still trying to figure how Nicki Minaj feels like Marilyn Monroe and what feeling like Marilyn Monroe consists of. See, pure confusion.
