At this point I think I've got Machine Gun Kelly figured out, at least when it comes to my own personal listening enjoyment. I genuinely respect him (he really did build his movement himself), I get why people like him (he's got that rebel/outsider ethos kids have gravitated towards since the beginning of rock), his live show's great and he makes at least decent music. I just don't personally dig the music; I'm never sitting around and think, "You know what I'd really like to hear now? Some MGK."

With that said, new single "Stereo" might be the first song from Kelly that makes it into my regular rotation for the rest of the month. Yes, that might be largely due to an incredible beat from The Kickdrums - this shit sounds like if the Black Keys and boom bap had a baby - but still, I'm digging it.

Hmmm....I might just find myself enjoying MGK's "Lace Up" album more than I thought. Maybe. Possible. We'll have to wait until October 9 to find out.
