New Lil Wayne Single! “Right Above It” ft. Drake (Listen & Download)

Prison, what prison? Despite spending his days doing laundry in Rikers' Island and get inked with prison tattoo guns, Lil Wayne has somehow still found the time to put out new music, including the first leak from his upcoming "I'm Not a Human Being" EP, the bouncing "Right Above It". (Thank god he's off that rock "Rebirth" ish.)

The track's not incredible, but I can't hate. It's good to hear Weezy back - he's not on his top shelf game but he still works in a few good lines - and of course he brings his Young Money protege Drake for a verse that Drizzy runs with well. If Wayne wasn't imprisoned I wouldn't be particularly excited about this, but given the circumstances it's kind of like a big deal. And yes, of course he recorded this before he got shipped off to Rikers (Free Weezy!), but the storyline's still too good to pass up.

And as long as we're on the subject, I'm throwing in a from prison interview Funkmaster Flex just did with Wayne during which we learn that, well...ok, we don't learn a lot. Flex isn't exactly Walter Cronkite when it comes to his interview skills. Still, it's worth a listen.

TheBayToLA	Flex is retarded, he doesn't know how to be real. Wayne sounds like hes in a good place though. I'm expecting big things when he gets out. I think it's interesting that he doesn't listen to music though. Anyways, I can't wait to hear a track with 3 stacks or tech 9. Both would be epic.

jaydeemorgan	It's overall not too bad. Not great, but definitely not bad. I can't hope for the new EP once weezy gets out. However, it would seem that at least part of Drake's verse is old...I'm pretty sure some/all of his verse came from his Tim Westwood freestyle from a while.

I'd agree with the general consensus. It's a solid track, but nothing to go crazy over. I just hope people are prepared for the media circus that will ensue once Weezy gets out. The hype surrounding this album's going to incredible.
