I've got to give some serious props to the homey Throat Chop. From Rob Roy to Chuwee to OnCue, his "Return of the Real" series has turned me onto some serious underground talent. One of the most impressive ROTR alums has been L.A. - she can spit like a camel. (Weird compliment I know, but camels can really spit.) Speaking of which, fresh off her 'Spittin Out Blood" leak, the young NYC emcee is back with "I'm Alive". Produced by Hippie Sabotage, this is the kind of raw, underground hip-hop that I've been missing in my life. If this was the late '90s, she'd be signed to Rawkus.

First "Blood" and now "I'm Alive"? There's now officially a strong chance that her aptly-titled "The L.A. Riot" album is going to be pretty damn dope when it drops via the mothership sometime soon.

(My second "Alive"/cannibalism reference in two weeks? Yep, it's officially a trend.)
