I hate to do it, but I feel oddly obligated to write that there aren't many female emcees capable of rhyming more aggressively than L.A. - and it's a natural aggression, not a forced "I'm going to rap really aggressively to prove to the guys that I can rap" aggression we hear so often. On the real, being a female emcee has to be fucking frustrating, mostly because annoying writers like me refer to you as a female emcee instead of simply an emcee.

So feel free to listen to L.A.'s "Chun Li" is two ways. One, get your head to nodding until you snap a vertebrae, and then think about the complex identity politics of being a female emcee. Or two, press play, get your head to nodding until you snap a vertebrae and don't think a single fucking extra thought.
