King Mez Gets Deep On “Sirens,” Touches On Domestic Abuse & More

Raleigh, North Carolina rapper King Mez isn't one for light subject matter and his latest release titled "Sirens" is a perfect example of that. On "Sirens," which was previously featured on the mothership's "SXSW: The Rising" mixtape, King Mez touches on friends being locked up, witnessing his mom become the victim of domestic abuse, and more. It's one of those tracks that leaves you kind of speechless towards the end due to the deeply personal subject matter.

Surprisingly, although his flow and lyrical content are that of someone much older King Mez is actually only 21-years-old. I have a good feeling that we're going to be hearing a lot more from Mez in the near future.

"Sirens" follows the March release of King Mez' "The King's Khrysis" EP which featured appearances from fellow North Carolinian Phonte, Tom Hardy, Sean Boog, and DJ Flash.
