I’ll Be Damned, Kardinal Offishall is Back to Rapping on “1st 48” (Listen)

I don't want to sat that Kardinal Offishall's new joint "1st 48" is one of the most hypocritical cuts of all-time, I gotta do some research on that one, but it's certainly ironic. I mean, we're talking about a thoroughly underground emcee who flipped and started taking orders from Akon dropping verses like:

"Gangsters don't die, they speak through y'all puppets
You pumpin that cream soda, I'm tempted but don't touch it."

Um, you don't touch that "cream soda"? I beg to differ.

For the record, Kardi can go chase all the radio hit money he wants. I'd rather listen to shit like "We Gon Go", but whatever, I don't pay your bills Kardi. Do what you feel like you gotta do.

But don't then turn around on a track like "1st 48" and act like you're some sort of Pharoahe Monch-esque, impeccably clean emcee. Sigh...whatever. I'm trying not to get too salty and instead simply enjoy the fact that Kardi's back to hard rapping, and doing so alongside a producer like Nottz is bonus points. Hopefully the duo's collaborative "A.M.T.R.I.M." project will be nothing but shit like "1st 48". Let's make it happen.

Oh, and word to the real "First 48". God I fucking love me that show.
