To tide over fans waiting for the upcoming release of his album Vision,
Jern Eye has released a free mixtape titled "The Eye Exam." Comprised of 20 tracks including album cuts, remixes, and never before heard songs and mixed by The Pharcyde's official DJ,
Icewater, "The Eye Exam" gives current fans and virgin listeners a small taste of what to expect from Bay Area MC's forthcoming album.
"The Eye Exam" demonstrates Jern's lyrical dexterity and ability to adapt to any soundscape without losing his identity. My favorite flow off the mixtape may just come from the track "
Champion," where Jern Eye spits:"...visualize the pinnacle, I see myself living it / Whether not they checking it / A couple thou' checking in / Riders in the Bay cold posting like a pelican / Some hella bent we on the grind like cinnamon / Sprinkle taste on'em / Now the slang's getting relevant."
"On the grind like cinnamon"!? Now that's some good ish. Check out the tracklisting and download link below.
