Block of Jay Elec: Jay Electronica Releases “The Announcement” (Listen & Download)

I wouldn't want to be in the Bad Boy offices this morning. Diddy's probably throwing chairs around and ordering everyone he sees to go buy him cheesecake from Brooklyn. Not only did Jay scoop him our of Mr. Combs thumb, but two Jay Elec tracks immediately surfaced, one actually featuring Hova, and the other dropping more Roc Nation references than...well...a Jay-Z song. While the aforementioned "Shiny Suit Theory" has the big names attached, it's "The Announcement" that truly showcases why Elec's one of the most deservedly hyped emcees to come along in a minute:

"The light from the dynasty sign froze all of the critics / and nary a soul got on they frog toes to ribbit."

"Decoded hieroglyphics in the shrines for the mummies / We not illuminati but our eye is on the money."

"Here’s a footnote on The Blueprint / Whoms fucking with we? / Yeah / Bad grammar / Widescreen panorama."

"Your plans is foiled / Your guns is borrowed / We living in tomorrow / A tissue for your sorrows." (Probably not a shot at Diddy, but in context it sure looks like it.)

And for those who aren't up on their history, that's a JFK sample in the intro. That "We choose to go to the moon...not because they are easy, but because they are hard," is one of the best political speech lines of all time. Of all time! #KanyeVoice
