The James Brown x Tupac Track That Wasn’t: “Unchained (The Payback/Untouchable)”

When the "Django Unchained" soundtrack first started getting talked about all we heard was "there's going to be tracks from James Brown and Tupac". Oh shit!?! So we hadn't tapped out the James Brown/Tupac vault yet?

Well, not really. Apparently the folks behind the soundtrack pulled a Game on us: "featuring James Brown and Tupac" turns out to more accurately mean "featuring samples of James Brown and Tupac".

Now that we have the actual track in hand, it turns out that it's essentially nothing more than a blend of Brown's "The Big Payback" and Pac's "Untouchable", and not a particularly good blend at that. Huh, well then, that's disappointing. The movie still looks bad ass though.

The "Django" version is below the two original videos; see, you can basically create a better blend just by pressing play on YouTube. Oh well...
