J Cole Wants to Know “Who Dat” (Listen & Download)

The future of Roc Nation J. Cole has been performing "Who Dat" live for months now, leaving fans clamoring for a recorded version of his upcoming album's lead single. Well they can clamor no more because last night we got the Cole and Elite produced track - which, despite the title, is not about the Saints - delivered to our doorstep, and damn does it knock. So far Hova's putting a lot of pressure on Cole to deliver, and I'm frankly not sure if he's going to be able to live up to such lofty expectations, but for the time being as long as he keeps cranking out tracks like "Who Dat" the young man's future is looking bright. North Carolina, go and raise up! (Sorry, but it's a personal mission to work Petey Pablo references into a post whenever possible.)

And just because I can't resist a good sports metaphor, Cole's career could go one of two ways. First, Kwame Brown. Supremely talented, but the pressure placed on him by his boss, who also just so happens to be the greatest of all time (Jordan/Jay-Z) was ultimately too much and crushed him. Or Kevin Garnett. Coming out of high school people wondered if he could really bring it night in and night out on a professional level, and thanks to a tireless work ethic, KG proved he could.
