J. Cole's latest release
"Lost Ones," the North Carolina rapper touches on a subject that isn't spoken on much in Hip-Hop and music in general and that is pregnancy and abortion. J. Cole takes an interesting approach to the sensitive subject by looking at it from three different perspectives: the man and woman involved and an outsider.
And I really liked how J. Cole chose to rap from three different perspectives on "Lost Ones." It was creative and somewhat unexpected because you don't get many songs that touch on more than one perspective when it comes to pregnancy/abortion. It's usually pretty one-sided.
The song is definitely on the depressing side, but at the end of the day Hip-Hop is more than just big booty chic's, bottles of Rozay, and fast cars. Always nice to hear a rapper keep it real even if the people don't necessarily want to hear that.
