These days, all you see and hear on the news is about which country is on the brink of war, the economic crisis and other information that drives fear into your everyday life. I’m tired of hearing nothing but bad news, that’s why I decided to write about positive and inspiring stories that are overlooked by the mainstream media in "It's All Good". This week....

98-year-old Hal Lasko, better know as Grandpa, worked as a graphic designer when everything was done by hand. Back in the 1990’s, his grandchildren introduced him to Microsoft Paint on the computer and ever since then, Grandpa has been making works of art with pixels.

Grandpa switched to using MS paint full-time in 2005 when his vision got worse due to an eye disease. “When I started to go blind, I wasn’t able to get the brush quite where I wanted it,” Lasko said. “So when I got into the art program on the computer, I appreciated that I could blow it up eight hundred times [larger] and be sure that I was hitting the right spot.”

Even though, he had never had experience with graphic software before MS Paint, he had experience with artistic design when he worked as a typographer. His grandson introduced MS paint to him, but everything else was self-taught.
