Ghostwridah’s “DIE” Proves Dope Storytelling Rap Isn’t Dead (Listen & Download)

Most emcees would have dropped a song like "Skittles & Iced Tea" and said to themselves, "My next release is going to be something light and fun, something for the ladies. I don't want people to think I'm too dark and serious." But that's why I dig GhostWridah; in case you were wondering, no, new single "DIE" is not a club anthem.

In fact, I'll let the man speak for himself:

"You never really know when death will come. It is something is inevitable, yet not commonly discussed in music from the point of view of the individuals who actually face death on a normal basis, and not just in "RAP." This song discusses the (true) stories of three individuals who live life on the edge with the idea of not returning home to their families each day." -GW

For me, it's actually pretty simple: It may not literally be a lost art, but dope storytelling raps over slow soulful beats are an endangered species these days, and "DIE" is a prime example of the art form at it's best.
