Game & Lil Wayne Looking For A “Red Nation” (Video Breakdown)

As a music video that’s been banned from TV, I guess there was a little too much red for the networks, you know we had to break down this new Game and Lil Wayne video “Red Nation.” The video was a little predictable though. It’s set in one of those super chaotic, "the world just kinda ended but not really" society’s so there’s still a good deal of humor to be found in the video.



0:16 – Hey look, it’s the sequel to the “California Love” video.

0:32 – Oh no, it’s the return of the red Mohawk.

0:44 – Isn’t this supposed to be a “Red Nation?” Where’s all the red?

1:09 – Wow, imagine if Game was actually a leader in some chaotic, post-apocalyptic society. That’d be awful. He’s way too emotional for all that.

1:24 – I’m really struggling to find something funny about this Lil Wayne cameo. Well, if you pause at the 1:24 mark he kinda looks like a gopher with sunglasses. Yea, that’s the best I got.

1:28 – I’m gonna need for this mob of people armed with weapons to actually do something with their toughness and not stand around looking pretty.

1:39 – A scarf though Game? That’s the toughest looking accessory you could find?

1:42 – “Word to Tupac Shakur’s halo.” Really Game? Expect to be haunted by the ghost of Tupac for that one.

1:54 – With all that fake fog this is starting to remind me of Kanye’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” video.

2:06 – That Charles Louboutin nickname is horrible by the way. I see why she fainted.

2:19 – How did Lil Wayne find the hatch from “LOST?!”

3:03 – It looks like Game’s red mob have organized themselves a nice, little parade. Kudos.

3:05 – How can homeboy be rocking a pair of Beats headphones amidst all this chaos? He clearly has no idea what’s going on. Nice product placement though.

3:10 – Only thing missing is some red fireworks.

3:16 – Isn’t a red flag a sign that you’re surrendering?

4:00 – The video was cool. Kinda forgettable though.
