Schadenfreude is a psychological terms used to describe someone who takes pleasure in the failure of others (aka haters), and while I certainly didn't derive any enjoyment from some of the epic f**k ups below, they were too egregious not to be called out. In the latest of an ongoing series that will include the best...or worst...fails of the week from the world of hip-hop, sports, pop culture and beyond, I examine Jim Joyce's ruined perfection, Khaled's gold rush, Chris Rock vs. Kobe and much more...
Jim Joyce Ruins Perfection
Jim Joyce joined the failed sports calls Hall of Fame this week when he robbed Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga of an extraordinarily rare perfect game with a terrible safe call...in the 9th inning...with two outs. Umps make bad calls, it happens, but this is literally the worst possible moment to f up. Hmmm....I'm trying to think of an analogy. It's one thing to have your college roommate cock block you when you're just making out, but it's another for him to come busting through the door drunk literally seconds before penetration. Sorry, was that too graphic? I don't care, I'm standing by that analogy. (Bonus fail to MLB for taking down any baseball video, anywhere. Because lord knows you don't want people to watch your sport.)
Calm..the F**k....down Khaled
As spotted on Rap Radar, today DJ Khaled took to Twitter to brag about his latest single "All I Do Is Win" becoming certified gold, which may sound impressive, unless you're aware that it's really not that hard to get a gold record. need an example. Ok, let's try to be as random as possible: Glenn Miller's 1942 hit "Chattanooga Choo Choo" went gold. Jay would never celebrate a gold record, in fact, he'd consider it an abject failure. Calm the f**k down Khaled.
Kobe Stones Chris Rock
During last night's game camera caught a court side Chris Rock apparently chopping it up and joking with Kobe Bryant...until the camera panned out and it was revealed that Kobe was completely ignoring him. Completely. As if he didn't exist. Sorry Chris, turns out the only thing that can distract Kobe from basketball are white girls from Colorado.
How High is too High?
"Oh, 10 feet? Yeah, the truck's definitely taller than 10 feet. I thought you said meters."
that pitcher will be more famous for this... but his day won't be immortalized in the Baseball Hall Of Fame (all no-hitters are)
and he will probably never throw another perfect game, ever
