Stussy Finishes Dilla Documentary With “Part 3” (Video)

Last week I decided to pay tribute to the late great J Dilla (a.k.a. the greatest producer to ever like) with a giant Block of Dilla. During that block we watched parts one and two of Stussy's dope documentary of J. Dilla's breakthrough years, and I promised to hit you with the closing of the trilogy as soon as it dropped. Well I'm a man of my word. Here's the final section of the documentary, which gives some dope insight into Dilla's creative process. Seriously, just fu**king watch this.

Listening to people break down Dilla's beatmaking process reminds me of when folks talk about Jay-Z's recording process in the sense that both of them apparently have their beat/rap mapped out completely in their head before they hit the studio, and then once they get in there they knock out classic jams in like 15 minutes. I don't like the use the word genius, but Dilla was obviously a genius. That man's brain was on a different level. If we was alive and living in Vienna in the 18th century he would have been symphony battling Beethoven.
