Converse Pays Tribute To The Super Mario Brothers With New Collection (Pics)

Converse was really on to something when they decided to create these Super Mario Brothers inspired Chuck Taylors. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who isn’t a fan of either the classic Nintendo video game or Converse’s iconic sneaker.

It’s a great concept, but there isn’t anything terribly unique about the sneaker. This could actually be a good thing though especially if you're a fan of less is more. The sneakers come in both black and white and feature miniature Mario’s in various poses: running, jumping, falling, etc. I really hope they plan on releasing other sneakers because they’ve clearly forgotten about Luigi who was personal my favorite from the game (aside from the Princess).

Although the sneakers might leave a little to be desired, Converse’s Super Mario Brothers collection would still make for a great addition to your sneaker collection if you were a fan of the game or just happen to be looking for a sneaker that’s a little outside of the norm. As of now the Super Mario Brothers Chuck Taylors will only be sold at select Japanese retailers.
