So, This Colin Munroe x RZA “Invincible” Joint is Pretty Ill (Listen & Download)

Honestly, I have no real idea what Colin Munroe's been up to for the last couple years. He caught some serious momentum with the release of his "Unsung" album way back in early '09, then he kind of disappeared for a minute, then he was suddenly on every hook in the world for like two months, then he kind of disappeared for a minute, and now he's back with a RZA produced joint, "Invincible", that's pretty damn good.

Whatever, it really doesn't really matter what Munroe's been up to. All that matters is that he's back and making dope music.

At first I was worried that Munroe's voice wouldn't work over this darkly explosive RZA beat (sampled from Au Palais’ "Tender Mercy"), but it works. Munroe's more relaxed, plaintive style really gives the cut an added layer of complexity. This sounds like Portishead on steroids or some shit.

I don't know what the rest of his upcoming "#UnsungHero" mixtape will contain, but the man's now got my attention. In the meantime, enjoy:

p.s. - I'm hearing Joell Ortiz crushing a guest verse on the "Invincible (Remix)". Let's make it happen people.
