I've been ignoring the Cassidy versus Meek Mill "beef" because, well, I don't particularly give a fuck. I don't know how this beef started or where it's headed, I'm assuming something about being from Philly.

But after a 2012 that featured some of the worst rap "diss" tracks in modern history, I'm so hungry for some actual music beef I finally broke down and took a listen to some of these shots being fired. Yep, curiosity got the best of me - seems like it's just that kind of day.

First up, Meek's "Repo"

Huh, that actually went pretty hard. Sweet baby jesus knows this isn't the second coming of Nas versus Jay, but Meek can definitely get aggresive when the occasion calls for it, and the punchlines were decent.

As for Cassidy, I guess he decided to overwhelm Meek with quantity, cause this new "Raid" diss is four hours ten minutes long, although there's some pretty good punchlines here too for those willing to stick with it. (Points detracted for the "eat your ass up" line. Um......)

Ultimately, in the history of hip-hop beef this is getting a big fat Jay-Z shrug, but at the very least it's an improvement over Common vs. Drake and Lil Wayne vs. Pusha T. Maybe there's hope for a legitimately dope beef in 2013 yet.
