Blu Holds New West Coast Orgy on “Doin’ Something” (Listen & Download)

I've been a resident of the beautiful and supremely dysfunctional state of California for over a decade now, and in that time I've watched L.A.'s hip-hop scene go from completely dead to one of the most creative, vibrant and collaborative regions in the country. I honestly can't name a city that has more artists working together more regularly than the City of Angels, just take this new Blu track "Doin' Something". In addition to the semi-reclusive headliner we get El Prez (on the intro), Pac Div, U-N-I, J Davey, TiRon and Ayomari.

On a related note, talk to ten hip-hop heads about Blu and I guarantee you at least half of them will say some version of, "He's dope, but man is he terrible live." Having a disappointing live show has almost become his thing, people go to his shows just to see if its true. He's like The Roots, except the exact opposite.

Oh, and not sure how it took me this long to notice, but Blu looks a lot like Bubbles from "The Wire", minus the hardcore drug use. See?
