B.o.B. Flies High on New “Airplanes” Video (Watch!)

Considering I just posted the Lupe Fiasco demo version of "Nothin' On You", I thought it was only right to keep the B.o.B. train rollin and take a look at Bobby Ray's new video for his other top-ten smash "Airplanes" featuring Hayley Williams of the rock band Paramore.



The Refined Take

1) First off, it's not particularly complicated, but the visuals on this are dope. From the first frame where the lights are moving like they're piano keys B.o.B. is playing I was hooked. He really broke out of the normal Atlantic Records video blueprint for this one.

2) Huh, so that's what Hayley Williams looks like. I honestly wouldn't have known her if she was standing in front of me at the store.

3) Props for the complete lack of actual airplanes in the video. You know if Diddy directed this they would have been flying around on his private jet while fireworks exploded around them.

4) By the way, this is the kind of video budget the label gives you if they know it's going to get played on more than just BET. I don't watch VH1 (except for the occasional Behind the Music) but I guarantee white folks who don't usually "like hip-hop" will be digging this one too.

5) I'm sure everyone who wants it already has "Airplanes", but the dope remix with Eminem might have slipped under a few folks radars. If so, check it out here.
