You might not personally like Atmosphere, but if you're an indie artist you need to study them Ant and Slug. The duo might not be rich and famous, but they've managed to live comfortably and leave a lasting legacy by consistently making music they were passionate about (which, in turn, made a lot of other people care passionately about their music).

That true independence means they can just put together a true underground posse cut because, fuck it, that sounds like something that would be dope. And boom, just like that we get "Ain't the Prettiest", featuring some stellar bars from Slug, Brother Ali, Carnage and Haphduzn.

This is the kind of shit I used to play obsessively when I was first really falling in love with hip-hop. Enjoy, and those residing in the Minneapolis era can catch Atmosphere playing a whole bunch of shows in March...
