Amber Rose Goes Hollywood Glam For YRB Photo Shoot (Pics)

If Amber Rose’s recent photo shoot with YRB Magazine was released with no accompanying text I’m sure most us would have no idea it was Rose featured in the pictures. The on-again, off-again girlfriend of rapper Kanye West looks quite different in the photo shoot. For instance, instead of her signature buzz cut Rose is sporting a Marilyn Monroe inspired, platinum blonde wig. In some shots Rose’s makeup is very reminiscent of old Hollywood while in other shots her makeup remains neutral.

Aside from the photo shoot there was also an interview by YRB writer Gina Ponce. Ponce questions Rose about her sudden rise to fame, confidence, being a fashionista, and more.

“Well, I don't look at myself as [a celebrity]. I'm just a dope chick from South Philly!” Amber Rose explained. “I mean, it's crazy when fans come up to me and cry and just want a hug from me. It bugs me out! But it’s really cool. Sometimes it does get overwhelming because, for example, I like to be on the beach with my man with no top on… I'm very comfortable with my body… But there’s no privacy – that’s the only thing that overwhelms me. Every time I see a light flash I think it’s the paparazzi. Those fuckers give me anxiety.”

Kudos to YRB on a great photo shoot and interview, but I’m finding it hard to believe that magazines are still finding Rose relevant these days. Rose has yet to become anything more than Kanye’s ex-stripper, trophy girlfriend to the public eye. So why is she getting more play than people with actual talent?
