Alicia Keys Wants to Do the “Unthinkable (I’m Ready)” (Listen & Download)

Posted by Nathan S. on 12/04/09 | Filed under Downloads, Drake, Alicia Keys

I already penned an extended love letter to Alicia Keys during our selection of "Fallin" for the Top 25 Songs of the 2000s countdown, so I'll save the "I'd be willing to be Nathan Keys if you'd marry me" lines and just skip to the music. After hearing the good-not-great "Doesn't Mean Anything" I wasn't sure if Alicia's upcoming album "The Element of Freedom" was going to be another classic, but her new track "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)" has me ready to declare it the album of the year without hearing another song off the album. A slowly winding song that features some minor electonically-assisted production and plantive vocals from Alicia, "Unthinkable" is an absolutely beautiful song.

For the record, everyone's insisting that Drake's featured on this track, but as far as I can tell he's obviously not, unless that's him doing some very soft and very infrequent back-up vocals. So either this isn't the final version or this is another classic case of the internet telephone game, where some random blogger put "Drake" in the title and everyone just followed along. Makes you wonder if people actually listen to the music they post. Anyway, enjoy...
