Well I’ll be Damned, This Akon “Conspiracy” Isn’t Half Bad (Listen & Download)

(Given Akon's track record, that girl's probably 12.)

If you feel like it's been forever since you've heard from Akon, a man whose slamming jail cell drop once dominated the radio dial to an unholy degree, you're absolutely right. It's not been almost four years since we've heard a new album from the Konvict founder, but there's a damn good reason why. When you're getting 15% of everything Lady Gaga makes, suddenly doing anything that doesn't involve sleeping on a tropical island sounds like a bad idea.

And yet, some how, some way, the man wandered into a studio and managed to record "Conspiracy", a new song that while not great, is a lot better than you'd assume. While it's long been proven that the man's actually done as much jail time as my grandmother (none, although Grandma S. ain't nothin to fuck wit), on "Conspiracy" Kon manages to lay down a cinematic, hard rock tinged cut that I can play without feeling ashamed. Huh, who would have guessed.

Akon's "Stadium Music" album is slated to drop Neveruary 18, 4017 via holographic technology on Unicorns Are Real Records. Keep an eye out.
