Is the ‘94 Wake Up Show Anthem” the Greatest of All-Time? (Listen & Download)

Around these parts it's become a bit of a tradition to unearth anthems from the world famous wake up show, so after covering the epic https://refinedhype.com/index.php/hyped/entry/bring-it-back-the-anthem/" title="Listen & Download!">'99 version (featuring RZA, Eminem, KRS-ONE, etc.) and the moderately disappointing 2010 version (featuring Tech N9ne, Crooked I, RZA, etc.) I thought it was only right that we get into the legendary '94 version, which the boyz over the the dope house claimed today was the - cue Kanye voice - greatest of all-time.

It's certainly hard to argue with the 94 Wake Up Anthem's dopeness. After all, we're talking about mc work from the likes of Nas, Organized Konfusion, Ras Kass, Dred Scott, Shyheim, Saafir and a hook from Ms. Lauryn Hill (who now insists on being called Ms. Lauryn Hill, seriously). When people talk about the early to mid-'90s as the golden era of hip-hop, this is exactly what they're talking about. But while this is far more true to the show's underground roots, I still feel like the '99 line-up simply had too much firepower not be considered the all-time champ.
