With a name like "Climax" you'd expect Usher's new release to be all freaky deaky and what not, but it's quite the opposite. Instead "Climax" is about love lost and second chances. And you can't help but wonder if any of this is aimed towards Usher's ex Tameka Raymond. The song is produced by Diplo, of Blackberry commercial and electro/dubstep/house deejay fame. See more...
Hate is a more powerful force than love, and I've got the numbers to prove it. Whenever we post some new Nicki Minaj I get a barrage of "stop posting Nicki Minaj!" emails. But then when I look at the stats, more people clicked on the Nicki piece than the latest, dope-as-fuck Big K.R.I.T. track.
Unless you're T-Pain everyone knows the cardinal rule is to never, never fall in love with a stripper. So I figured there'd be no better collection for RefinedHype #FuckLove day than a collection of hip-hop's greatest stripper anthems of all-time. You know, those tracks so good it looked like strippers were actually enjoying themselves - at least for one song.
K. Sparks has been so fucking unbelievably consistent it's become hard to think of new ways to write about his music that aren't "here's another dope Sparks track, just like the last 47 tracks." And you know what? This music is so dope it doesn't need a storyline. So in that spirit here's yet another dope Sparks track, "Black". Listen and download...
Better watch out for Playboy Tre, the man's sneaky dope. He somehow doesn't come up in the average "Southern rappers on the come-up" discussion, but the man's been one of the more solid Southern emcees of the last few years, and now that he's getting worldwide exposure via his OG homie B.o.B., things are really looking up for Tre. What's better than roses, chocolates, Build-A-Bear's, or sappy Hallmark cards on Valentine's Day? How about new Kendrick Lamar? Kendrick is really killing the creativity game right now and his latest release with Gunplay titled "Cartoon & Cereal" is a great example of that. I mean, who knew that a Hip-Hop song this dope would include a "Darkwing Duck" mention? Listen...
It's ok to be wary. When I first heard that Yelawolf was going to be doing a collaborative project with some British singer (Ed Sheeran) I was worried to. I don't know what I pictured - probably something like Craig David doing remixes of "Pop the Trunk". Listen and download...
