RefinedHype.com not-so-proudly presents, in association with Joey Lawrence and denim jackets, the worst rap ever recorded. Ever. In history. Unearthed from a place no man should have to visit, former teen heartthrob Joey lays down a verse on "Nothing My Love Can't Fix" that's so bad it will make you miss Vanilla Ice.
Just in case you don't want to sit through a couple minutes of Joey's sweet, sweet dance moves, feel free to fast forward to the 2:45 mark.
The Refined Take:
1) As if the lyrics weren't bad enough, what's with the weird accent he decides to rhyme in? It's like some sort of New Jersey/Middle Eastern accent hybrid. Apparently someone sat in the studio and said, "You know Joey, what if you tried this next take sounding like a drunken truck driver? Let's go for it."
2) I was going to go out tonight wearing no shirt and a giant plaid jacket, but now I'm reconsidering.
3) It's only fitting that the worst rap in history takes place during one of the worst "fake beach football" scenes in music video history. If this video is any indication Joey Lawrence was only slightly worse than Barry Sanders. He dodges 107 tackles and runs about a half-mile by the time it's done. On the plus side, great block from the girl in the white tanktop.
Ok, so let's agree to never speak of this again. Deal?
If you think you've got an example of a worse rap, and I highly doubt you do, email me at nathan [at] refinedhype.com and let me know.
