Sm City Lives “The Indie Life” on New Mixtape (Listen & Download)

Oh, the life of an independent artist. It's an often thankless task requiring days filled with hard work and nights filled with more of the same...but on the plus side you get to actually make dope music without a marketing vice-president sitting in the studio. That's exactly the situation DMV rapper Sm City (no, not Sim City, though that is a dope old school game), and thankfully he's decided to put his life as an up-and-coming rapper to music with the release of his new aptly-titled mixtape "The Indie Life", presented by DJ Dub Floyd and DJ BChenk.

Or as Sm City himself puts it so well: "There is nobody you can depend on but yourself... so don't be surprised or angry when you don't get the support you feel you deserve. It is to be expected... the people in charge of the outlets you need are dickriders and/or have their own self interest in mind. They are too busy swinging from the sacks of the already established entities and/or are trying to put their own artists or themselves on. Fuck em."

I couldn't have said it better myself. So if you're indie minded, or just want to support quality hip-hop (and if you don't I'm not quite sure what you're doing on RefinedHype), definitely check out Sm City's dopely adventurous new mixtape. I guarantee it's worth the listen.

Download link is below the tracklisting. Enjoy.
