Pretty Lights is kind of killing it. A few years ago this Colorado native was DJing and throwing wild house parties. Now Derek Vincint Smith is living the good life, selling out venues across the US and Europe. His sell-out show at Colorado’s own Red Rocks Amphitheater last summer sealed the deal for me…Pretty Lights is a force to be reckoned with. His sound, consisting of layers upon layers of samples, backed with crunchy bass and glitchy drums is a sure-shot recipe for a good time. Check out the Chicago Bulls Intro remix he did below. Takes me right back to the days of MJ breaking ankles, Tony Kukoc launching 3’s, and Dennis Rodman hounding the boards.
