This Week in Drake Lawsuits

Honestly, I’m getting a little tired of writing about Drake in this column every week…but Aubrey just keeps pumping out too many new fails for me to ignore.

There are only three guarantees in life: death, taxes and lawsuits after hit singles. Most of the time those lawsuits are complete bullshit (I’m looking at you “Pink & Yellow” guy), but not all of them.

For example, if you’re a global superstar, and you use a voicemail from someone on a record, and you don’t clear it with them first, you can pretty much guaran-fucking-tee yourself that a lawsuit is coming. Sure enough, Ericka Lee (aka the real life chick from “Marvins Room”) has laid the legal smack down on Drizzy after their relationship broke up.

Before the song was released, and while they were still together, Drake could have probbly gotten her to clear the use of her voicemails for a bottle of Reisling and some extended cunnilingus - now Drake’s looking at well over $100K, if not millions. Nicely played Aubrey, Stevie Wonder could have seen that shit coming. 

And if that wasn’t bad enough, this week he also apologized to Vanessa Bryant for his “bitch you wasn’t with me shooting in the gym” line, claiming it wasn’t really aimed at the former Mrs. Kobe. “I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else.”

Way to take the one line everyone agreed was kind of bad ass and turn it completely pussy again Drake. Just a stellar week for you all around.
