Wiz Khalifa Cabin Fever Mixtape Front Cover

You know how you know you've made it? You can drop a mixtape with almost no promo or lead time and still have everyone rushing to download it. Well, by that criteria and new mixtape "Cabin Fever", Wiz Khalifa's made it. (Alternate theory: This wasn't supposed to drop so soon, but he got high and decided to drop it now. Prove to me that's not what happened.)

"Cabin Fever" features vocal work from Trae the Truth, Big Sean, Juicy J and Chevy Woods, while production comes from Drumma Boy and some other people Wiz didn't bother to list. (Producers never get love). I'm listening to the project as I type this, and it's nice so far, but I won't be able to offer a coherent analysis for a few more minutes. In the meantime I'll rely on RefinedHype Nation to fill me in:

"Cabin Fever" is...survey software

By the way, the homey D-Mac pointed out that that Wiz rhymes about really ordinary shit all the time but he makes it sound really baller. He could say, "Rolled up to Subway and got the 5 footer / then went home and smoked a joint, called a girls phone number" and you're like, "damn, he's the man." Anyway....

d-mac	"Ain't been asleep yet, room service bringin' us breakfast" I've done that like 20 times. Not very impressive, but Wiz makes it sound dope. "I let her get as high as she want and she feel that" Normal people also do this - who has ever told a girl "hey go easy on my weed, I only have a little". However, when Wiz says it, it somehow sounds exclusive.

x20nickel	I'm glad Homicide finally dropped, that song alone had people rushing for the tape.

Nathan S.	^ Looks like I'm going to have to give D-Mac a guest column. The "Wiz makes ordinary shit sound dope" idea is hilarious. And after listening to this project a few times it's good. That's it. Just good. Not bad. Not great. Good.
