Wiz Khalifa Watches Life on the “Big Screen” (Listen & Download)

The questions over whether Wiz Khalifa can move from indie sensation to mainstream player were somewhat answered when "Black and Yellow" hit it big, but now's really where Wiz hits the crossroads. If he can drop another hit there will be no doubting that he's arrived, but if he can't.....

While not his official next single (see below), new leak "Big Screen" is at the very least a good indication of what a future single will sound like...kind of like Lil Wayne. While Wiz' loyal army will undoubtedly eat this up, for me "Big Screen" sounds like a bit of a Lil Wayne knock off. It's basically your normal quasi-auto-tuned slow roller. Eh.

As long as we're here and on the subject, I thought this was an unintentionally hilarious quote from Wiz: "The next single is called 'Roll Up'. Really, I just needed another single, and we were trying to come up with a look and then me and [my manager] talked about it. We talked about it for three minutes. And then I came up with that song." Yep, that's pretty much what I thought Wiz' creative process was like. "What should our next song be?" "How about a song about weed?" "Sounds good, give me three minutes."
