Valentine’s Day, it’s a holiday that is both dreaded and loved by many. Men in particular might find this holiday a little hard to swallow due to the stress that comes with finding their particular love interest that perfect Valentine’s Day gift. To help the fella’s out a little bit RefinedHype.com touched bases with a group of women to find out what women really want for Valentine’s Day and contrary to popular belief it’s not all Zale’s jewelry and boxes of chocolate.
“I just want quality time. Your time shows the effort more than any present can. Anybody can go out and buy someone a gift.” -

“First off, as a single woman on Valentine's Day this year I would love to have a man but it's a little last minute notice for that one. If I did have a Valentine, all I'd want is a few dozen roses delivered at my doorstep by my Valentine with a sweet and sincere hand written letter that would make me tear up after reading. Valentine's Day is about showing a person that you care by taking a second to show that you appreciate their company, so a simple letter and flowers would make any girl smile.” -
Jehanny Alcon, Research Assistant
“I recently got engaged in December, and both my fiancé and I work a ton, so all I want this Valentine’s Day is to spend some quality time together – and to go out to a good restaurant!” -
Lauren Sammak, Digital Publicist
“Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to make a woman feel like she's worth a damn! When a guy doesn't take the time on V-Day it sends off the message, ‘I don't care enough about you to even try!’ Sounds rough I know! But ladies want to feel appreciated and loved! Besides! It’s worth the while!” -
Krys Ivory, Singer/Songwriter (

"What I want for Valentine's Day, hmmm hadn't really thought about it. I think this year I want a new look. That is a personal gift to myself, maybe a new hair color or cut, a new luxury handbag or big jewelry. I want to spice things up a little, something very bold and not subtle at all." -
Gwen Beloti, Emerging Designer
“I work hard all day, everyday so what I want is quite simple; to feel special. The simplest gesture to let me know I am thought about and appreciated would suffice!” -
Nikki Simpson, Movie Writer/Producer
