As anyone who tuned in for "Rodney King" already knows, THURZ, otherwise known as one-half of U-N-I, is right there with the leaders of the new west school movement, and frankly he's making more meaninful music than almost any of them. On new release, the aptly named "Los Angeles", THURZ digs into the real Los Angeles, the one that simultaneously contains the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor, where dreams get made and dreams get killed. Wow, I suddenly got super deep right there. Well, my current home city is a deep f**king place. THURZ brought it out of me, but no matter where you reside, if you love hip-hop, you should feel this.
Download link is under the video of THURZ rehearsing to play "Los Angeles" live at the Paid Dues Festival. Keep an ear out for the man's upcoming solo album, "L.A. Riot", coming soon-ish-esque.
