This Is My Rifle: Freedom (aka Ron Paul) Is The Only Option

We're in trouble. Big time. I'm talking put on your tinfoil hat and lock yourself in the basement with 20 years worth of water, code red on the CNN swine flu meter, Justin Bieber just won 'Best New Artist' at the BET awards type of trouble. Whether it's an economy on the verge of total collapse, a rapidly expanding war that has the potential to wipe out entire continents or the fact that Donald Trump has been selected to moderate a Republican Presidential debate, I think the message is clear; it's a wrap in 2012. There will be no violins playing as the ship goes down, no 50 yard field goal attempt with .7 seconds left on the clock, just a big ball of flames as the planet flies through space hurtling itself towards a giant black hole of nothingness.

Ok, maybe it's not that bad but shit's pretty fucked up.

Let's start with the most immediately angering (at least to me) of the three: Donald Trump is going to moderate an upcoming Republican Presidential debate. Now the question I would like to ask is; who in the fuck thought this was a good idea? There is not one person I can think of who better personifies all that is wrong with the Western World. Be it his exceedingly corrupt and unmercifully greedy business practices, his willingness to whore himself to the media in every way possible or just his all around inability to reflect even the slightest remnants of any positive human qualities, Donald Trump is in every sense of the phrase a "human bag of burning dog shit" so vile that God himself wouldn't stomp him out if he was flung onto his doorstep by a pack of unruly 6th graders. Even Bono thinks he's a douchebag, which is like Joe Montana calling you a great quarterback.

But I guess it's fitting; at this point the Republican Party has pretty much given up and the Presidential debates are like a smorgasbord of crazy. There's the lady that thinks God talks to her, the Black guy who's dick might just be the only part of his body capable of logical thought, the fat White dude that's more of a corporate pawn than George W. Bush and Obama put together and then a bunch of other guys who I swear can barely speak the English language. If these bumbling idiots are the elite squad of super villains brought together to topple Barack Obama's reign as the king of Zombie Land then I'd hate to see who didn't make the cut. Did Herman Cain have to outwit a dying plant and a box of paper clips? Did Newt Gingrich have to arm wrestle a quadruple amputee? And how close were the contests? What were the requirements? Did they have to write their own names with fewer than 3 spelling mistakes? Did they do a re-count and that's why Herman Cain is now out of the race? Good God man.

So you're probably wondering why, unlike most of you, I've bothered to watch the Republican debates in the first place. Well, because tucked away amongst all that mental retardation is the last hope that the United States of America, Canada and every other country politically tied to the stars and stripes has left; a skinny congressman from Texas named Ron Paul. I've never considered myself to be much of a Republican. In fact, I don't agree with 99% of what they stand for. But that's why I'm a hard-core supporter of Ron Paul, because neither does he. I could spend this article going on and on about how important he is to the American people and the constitution the country was built upon but that's not why I'm writing this (that'll probably be the next article). Today I wanna ask you a question:

Do you trust your government?

It's a simple question with a complicated answer, and the complication exists because the truth is, you don't. You may find them to be honest in some areas but overall you're skeptical of who's best interest they have in mind and believe me, I'm with you. It seems like for the past 60+ years we've been lied to repeatedly and to such an extent that when a politician only gets caught with one hand in the cookie jar we all collectively breathe a sigh of relief. And so as the political system became increasingly corrupt over time, we were conditioned to accept the attacks on our freedoms and liberties by our governments and would settle for what we could get. We were happy with being the victims of slow anal rape because the threat of a prison style gangbang was just around the corner. If we slipped up, big brother let it be known that he had no problem locking us in the shower room with the lifers.

Now here we are, a bunch of zombies possessed by our possessions and lost in the fog of media and consumerism. We're poorer than we've ever been but still we line up for hours on “Black Friday” to throw away the few pennies we have left on useless products manufactured by a country we could very well be at war with in a matter of months. Our messiah, Barack Obama, handed blank checks worth trillions of dollars over to the bankers and proved to be nothing more than an errand boy for those who perpetuate the greed and corruption that he promised to do away with in the first place. He extended a war that he vowed to end and he passed laws that gave government the power to imprison any American citizen without just cause for an undetermined period of time. He assisted in bringing the greatest nation on Earth to the brink of collapse and now he's gonna tell you that he plans to fix it if you give him just 4 more years. Don't go along with the program anymore. White or Black, your government sold you the fuck out.

This is it. This is your last chance at freedom. Barack Obama was the first Black President, but unfortunately he was also a Trojan horse. If we can learn anything from this experience it’s that race is no longer the issue. The notion of a Black President is as great an idea as any, but what we need is a leader who will restore your constitutional rights and whole-heartedly believes in truth, justice and liberty. Never before in history has the importance of these principles been so crucial and we need to find the strength within ourselves to fight for them. Find a leader you can trust and whoever it is, hold them accountable for their actions. If they tell a bold faced lie, call them on it. It’s time that the government gets back to serving you and not the other way around.

That’s why I’m throwing my weight behind Ron Paul. There is no question in my mind that he is the only one that can get us out of this mess we’re in. But don’t take my word for it, find out for yourself.
