Theophilus London Needs to Leave This “Humdrum Town” (Video)

With a name like Theophilus London you know the man's not interested in mainstream superstardom, and sure enough his brand of pop-hip-hop-techno music is far left, but I appreciate the man's original style, and I especially appreciate his new video for "Humdrum Town", a flick that once again proves there's nothing a little karaoke can't fix.



The Refined Take:

1) We're seeing a bit of an '80s revival in fashion and music right now, and while I pray to God everyday huge feathered hair doesn't make a comeback, that's not always a bad thing - as "Humdrum Town" proves.

2) Does that one bald white dude with glasses singing karaoke remind anyone else of Milton from "Office Space"? "I was told I could play my music at a reasonable volume." God I love that movie.

3) I can't decide if those scooters are wack or secretly mad cool. Some days I really want to rock one, other days I wouldn't be caught dead on one. Seems like you have to be the right kind of person to really rock a scooter (London does well here), and I'm just not sure I'm the right kind of person.

4) I can't lie, huge choke on London's part if he broke up with that girl. Huge...choke. Although apparently all he needs to do is work a little of his karaoke magic and it's all good again. I'll keep that in mind the next time my girl's mad at me.
