When you name your group Tanya Morgan you're essentially announcing that you don't give a fuck what people think about you, and sure enough the Brooklyn/Cincinnati/Brooklynati crew has made the music they've wanted to make for years now. So after a brief hiatus that saw group members Donwill and Von Pea releasing solo projects ("High Fidelity" and "Pea's Gotta Have It" respectively), it's great to hear the group with a girl's name get back to making music together.

I'll let Von Pea explain the origins of their new single, "Whatever That's Mine": "2011 has been a transitional period, professionally and personally/ Keeping that in mind, 'Whatever That's Mine' is inspired by the idea that everyday is another chance to go for yours, no matter what it is that you're after. We were so damn down before, but now we're getting up and going for ours."

Dope beat from Von Pea? Expectedly dope rhymes from Pea and Donwill? Yep, this is exactly what I needed to get me properly stoked for the release of their "You and What Army EP", due to drop on November 22. Enjoy.
