That headline's a serious question. Seriously. Does anyone still care about SummerJam? There was a time when SummerJam was the biggest concert of the year, a true hip-hop event unlike any other. But over the years it's lost its luster, and for me it feels more like something I'm supposed to care about, not something I actually care about. Now that we have Rock the Bells and Paid Dues and a ton of other tours, and I can watch shit from my computer, it just doesn't have the same impact.
But maybe I'm jaded and cynical. As always, I'll depend on RefinedHype Nation to set me straight. Poll is below the video of Drake/Wayne/Ross/Khaled/Stephen Hawking doing the night's biggest performance.
Alternate hypothesis: Like everything that happens in their borders, New Yorkers still think it's a big deal, and by extension are convinced everyone else should think it's a big deal too.
(QuickHits: Everything you love about RefinedHype, only smaller and faster. It's the Darren Sproles of this rap blog shit.)
