Sure, sure, I know what you're thinking. Only two "rappers" would be at home at 2:30 in the afternoon, but let's not let that overshadow the central facts of this case. As maligned as they so often are, two average street rappers were revealed to be true American heroes when duty called.
But who are these rap superheroes? Who are Sleepy D and Big Hongry? Our first clue begins with their classic collaborative track "Fuck You":
"Fuck You" provides us with one answer and one question. First, we now know that Sleepy D really enjoys rhyming "ho" with "ho". Second, I'm going to assume that's Big Hongry on the second verse, but only because it'd be odd for a man named "Big Hongry" to have the high-pitched, Lil Boosie-sounding third verse. Looks like I'm going to do some further research.
We'll start with Sleepy D, whose Twitter provides a hint at what he was watching when the fire broke out: "First 48". (Good to know Sleepy and I have something in common.) Beyond his television viewing habits the primary source of Sleepy D info comes to us via that hub of hip-hop goodness MySpace. For example, did you know his "Sleepy Deprivation" album is out now? Boom, it is.
Big Hongry, who has a fucking fantastic name by the way, is far more mysterious. Judging from the pic in the "Fuck You" video above this actually isn't his MySpace page (could there be multiple Big Hongrys?) Even more enigmatically there's a guy named Big Hongry who seems to have a thing for randomly falling down in grocery stores, but I don't think that's him either. (How many Big Hongrys could there possibly be?) In other words, the man's still largely a mystery. If any citizens of RefinedHype Nation can track down any additional information have at it.
So let that be a lesson to all the aspiring rappers out there who ask me how they can get covered on RefinedHype. Step one, have hilarious names. Step two, save a bunch of people from a fire. It's just that simple.
