Nas Loves “Power, Paper & Pu**y” (Listen & Download)

Although I included it in yesterday's "Daily Re-Up" the only other real track of note, besides Jay's "lost" classic "Most Kings", on DJ Green Lanterns new "Invasion Radio 2K10" mixtape is this boom-bap-ish, jazzy Nas cut, "Power, Paper & Pussy". Sorry, I know that was a lot of detail for an opening sentence, so let me slow it down for the quasi-illiterates out there: Nas...song....pussy. There, that should grab their attention.

Though I wish it were about twice as long, what relatively little we get is pretty goddamn dope. As I mentioned, the beat, co-produced by Nasir himself and Salaam Remi, has a cooled out NYC feel but still manages to maintain a dark edge, and while this isn't the second coming of "New York State of Mind", God's Son is on point lyrically here. Although, can anyone explain to me what the hell "I'm like an afrocentric Asian" means? Does that make any sense to anyone but Nas? Whatever, it's still dope.

Of course the ironic thing is that all of Nas' power attracted pussy, which has ended up costing a lot of paper.
