“More or Less” Catching the F**k Up With Skewby (Listen & Download)

Even though the mothership dropped Memphis emcee Skewby's "More or Less" mixtape a few weeks ago now, it wasn't until recently that I truly gave it a listen, and realized that I was sleeping on one hell of a project. For those who need comparisons, I'd place him in the XV camp - creative, relatable, always honest - but without the constant pop culture references.

But the comparisons don't really matter, the music does. The music always matters most (unless you look like this.) So I'm going to make this really easy. Below you'll find the title track, "More or Less", produced by Skewby himself and Go Judo. If you're not feeling, sip some more Robitussin and stay asleep. And if you are, you'll definitely want to cop the mixtape. Sound like a plan? O ley do it.

^ Honestly, I f-ing hate rating albums numerically, but everyone wants to see a number so I give it to them. I Here's how I generally break down the ratings.

5 - Classic. Once in a generation album. (Kanye's MBDTF is the only album I've ever given a 5 in the three years I've been doing it.)

4.5 - Elite. I'll be listening to this one for years. (Lupe Fiasco's The Cool, Dream's Love vs. Money, etc.)

4 - Damn good. Every so often I'll be like "oh yeah, that album" and listen to it for a few days.

3.5 Really solid. I'll be listening to it for a couple weeks then it will slowly fade.

3 - Nothing super wrong with it, but I could take it or leave it.

Anything below a 3, I'm not listening to again. I could have gone 3.4 or 4 for "More or Less", but wasn't sure it'd have that much staying power. Who knows, maybe I'll be wrong and in a year still be listening to it.
