The last time Mike Posner visited RefinedHype nation I asked whether his last single "Please Don't Go" was wack or not. Despite my reservations the result was a pretty resounding now, as y'all voiced your approval of Mr. Posner's work. Well who am I to deny the will of the people? Allow me to present Mike's latest work, the slow jam-esque "Bow Chicka Wow Wow". Yep, that's the actual title.

Actually, I can't let it go. I'm not feeling "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" at all. This wouldn't be the first time I felt differently than everyone (I thought "Recovery" was disappointingly weak at times) but I just don't get what people hear in him. The Smeezingtons production, as always, is great, but the dude can't sing. He just can't. On a track like "Cooler Than Me" he can get away with it, but if he wants to do actual slow jams he just needs better.

It's easy to judge a track like this. Just ask yourself, if I was alone with my girl and I threw this on, what would happen? If I threw on D'Angelo's "Untitled" I'd be having another baby in nine months, and if I threw this on my girl would laugh and tell me to go sleep on the couch. He doesn't have to be D'Angelo, but he has to be better than this.

If y'all are feeling this I'll let it go and post more Posner tracks without bitching, but one last time, I have to ask: "Bow Chicka Wow Wow", wack or not?

This is a song I could imagine hearing from Sean Kingston or something. I'll admit that Mike's voice is not the best in the world, but his delivery, cadence, and lyrics are undeniably catchy. Mike never gets too serious and seems to stay melodic regardless of how you feel about his voice. The concept on this song is just a lil too corny for me to listen regularly, but i don't hate it as much as i thought i would after reading Nate's article. Haha please do me a favor though my peoples, find the full version of "traveling man"! All i have is the first verse, and i love it, but i cannot find the full version anywhere and i don't feel like waiting for the new album. Haha that would be awesome, thanks...

enigmAtic And ecstAtic	kinda wack. the beat kills tho and automatically improves my opinion of the song.

jaydeemorgan	The production is alright, but overall the song is nothing special. Mike Posner's voice isn't the best, but he can definitely hold his own on some tracks. This isn't anything i would listen to regularly. Not totally wack, but definitely not great either.

Nathan S.	It looks like jaydee summed up the sentiments of RefinedHype nation: "Not totally wack, but definitely not great either." So I think we can say that while Mike can lay down a catchy, enjoyable melody, he needs to stay out of the bedroom, at least for the time being. Looks like we're going to have to keep playing "Wack or Not" until we come to a conclusion.
