Via the ~~good folks~~ maniacs at Vice, a pretty interesting piece about Jeremy Rose, who produced the first Weeknd tracks that established Abel's hype and codeine-soaked sound. He and Abel broke up just before the blow up, and since then he's been kicked to the curb.

The Weeknd's gone on to make a lot of music post-Rose, so he's obviously not fundamental to Abel's success, but it's always a good time reading about all the behind-the-scenes insanity that takes place in even the most simple seeming situations.
