Mayer Hawthorne Delivers Some “Gangsta Luv” (Remix)

Mayer Hawthorne, the retro soul soaked singer who we last saw tearing it up live, has taken Snoop and The-Dream's hit single "Gangsta Luv" and remixed it into a Motown-era hit, giving it a live instrument feel and transforming the booty smacking anthem into a song I can picture Hugh Hefner throwing on in the Playboy mansion while wearing a velvet robe and drinking cognac. Feel free to do the same.

By the way, props to Hawthorne for actually remixing his remix. Remember when the word "remix" used to mean something more than just "a rapper adds a verse to the existing song"? I miss those days. Thanks to Hawthorne for bringing them back. I also have the same problem with "freestyles", but that's a rant for another day.
