Malik-16 Freestyle Madness: “No Hippie Chic” & “Shy” (Exclusive Listen & Download)

By now you should know the deal. A heated debate between me and NYC rapper Malik 16 over the wack production on Eminem's "No Love" resulted in me throwing down the gauntlet and challenging him to rhyme over some completely unexpected beats. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Malik's now been dropping some fresh rhymes over off the wall production for weeks now as part of his "Shit You Didn't Think Was Dope Until I Did It" campaign and I have to admit, the results have been ill.

The latest additions to the "Shit You Didn't Think Was Dope" family are "No Hippie Chick" and "Shy", two tracks guaranteed to get the '90s connoisseurs out there to go on a little nostalgia trip.

First up we have "No Hippie Chick", a track that finds Malik covering Soho's 1990 club hit "Hippy Chick" and letting the ladies know that if they spend their nights sipping green tea and meditating, they can pass him by.

Next on the list is "Shy", a record r&b heads should instantly recognize as belonging to Malik's fellow Howard University alums Shai and their "If I Ever Fall In Love" and notably finds Malik dropping a half-sung, half-rapped flow. Might I suggest some Boyz II Men the next time around? Perhaps some "Motown Philly"?
