I feel like a bit of a dick for writing this, but is anyone else getting tired of inspiration rap? Don't get it twisted, swag rap still makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit, but this is starting to feel formulaic. Get a rock-edged
Alex da Kid beat, grab Skylar Grey (or in this case
Ester Dean) and rap about how no one believed in you, how you overcame, and how everyone else can achieve their dreams too.
I'm sure
Machine Gun Kelly's army is going to eat up "
Invincible", and it may even manage to make some noise on the mainstream channel, but this is all starting to sound like 'Chicken Noodle Soup for the Rap Soul" to me. Making music that truly emotionally connects is no easy task though, props for at least trying...but if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go put "
Gotta Have It" on repeat.
And.....the hate mail from MGK's fans starts pouring in. The Cleveland kid's debut album, "Lace Up", is slated to drop
in 2012 whenever Diddy says so.
