Lil Wayne & His “Homies Still” Can’t Rap Very Well (Listen)

The good news is that in comparison to the unarguably wack Pusha T "diss" track "Ghoulish', Lil Wayne's brand new singe "My Homies Still" sounds like the second coming of Rakim. The bad news is that he's still performing at levels well below his peak. 2008 Weezy would have First 48ed this beat. 2012 Weezy just kind of roughed it up a little.

....honestly, I'm searching for more to say, but I just don't have it. Lil Wayne's not (always) as bad as everyone makes him out to be. It's just that before his range went from bad to excellent, and now his range goes from "sweet baby jesus that's terrible" to "that's actually pretty good". I'd put "My Homies Still" right in the middle of that spectrum. Points automatically deducted for still using the pause flow, but he does manage to sneak a few lines in there. Eh, not really worth getting worked up about, love it or hate it. Shrug.

Oh, and Big Sean? Big Sean clearly needs to read "This Pussy Dripping Thing Has Gone Way Too Far" if he's gonna keep dropping lines like, "She leakin and drippin, whoa there, I might just go slippin."
